Alan Hannah says it with flowers

When you see the new Alan Hannah collection at White Gallery in May, expect to see a bouquet of beautiful flowers

“The flowers on the Melita dress (right, top) are stylised Gerbera daisies,” says designer Marguerite Hannah of Alan Hannah. “I was inspired by daisies from childhood memories of “he loves me, he loves me not”, and of course with this dress it’s a definite case of “he loves you”  so its a little bit of a dream come true. Every petal is designed and hand-crafted at our studio, and sewn on individually. They can also and can be picked off (don’t try this at home) one by one. I used this imagery on our Wedding TV ad where we animated a flower being sewn together a petal at a time.” (See it all happen at  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TX8AgU4lcto)
The Hannahs have a busy time ahead. First, in the Spring HRH Princess Ann, President of UK Fashion & Textile Association, will officially open the design house’s new workrooms and showroom, a unit that has been totally fitted out to the Hannahs very exacting requirements and is a state-of-the-art manufacturing space; Alan and Marguerite are committed to keeping the skills and knowledge which have developed over years and generations here in the UK. Then there is White Gallery, where they will be showing their newest collection. Bouquets all round then – and not just for the bride.
