Great news for shoes

Picking up on a concept that originated in the US, Rainbow Club commercially pioneered the art of hand colouring satin accessories for the UK. 30 years later and the brand has become a firm favourite, the UK’s leading occasion footwear and accessories brand, and a top choice at The Harrogate Bridal Show

In 1986 Rainbow Club launched their very first footwear collection with three styles - low, mid and high-heeled court shoes called Candy, Crystal and Connie. Fast forward to today and the company is the ideal destination for all accessories for the big day with over 100 women’s designs as well as handbags, shoe clips, children’s shoes and wedding veils - and this year at Harrogate the company showcased this entire collection.

The 2017 collection - the work of new designer Joanne Stoker, who will continue to oversee design direction for the entire Rainbow Club portfolio - mixes contemporary silhouettes, exquisite textures and playful detailing.

There are over 30 new styles this season taking inspiration from key catwalks trends. Key features include delicate embellishment, 3D detailing and new fabrics. The ‘Anastacia’, made with Rainbow Club’s new Italian Champagne Lustre is the perfect lower heeled shoe, and is finished with a delicate diamante and pearl encrusted bow, bringing a real fairytale feel to the design. For a slightly higher heel the ‘Adrianna’ is perfect. This romantic sandal with Italian Tulle ruching is finished with a pearl and diamante t-bar. For something a bit different, the ‘Fern’ is a classic court heel adorned with 3D floral applique and finished with a delicate ankle strap.

“Harrogate was very positive for us,” says MD Richard Marsh. “We were 23% up on footwear units against like for sales from last year’s show and additionally we opened 16 new accounts. Our best selling shoes were the Adrianna, Constance, Pearle, Fern, Giverney and Natala which are all from our new 2017 Collection.

“Joyce Jackson Veils also enjoyed very healthy Harrogate sales with more luxurious one-off veils doing particularly well, specifically higher priced styles such as the Nottinghill, Kensington and Soho.

“Additionally our own gorgeous Rainbow Club veils in soft Italian tulle with beautiful packaging saw us treble sales from last year’s successful show. New best sellers were the Winterberry, Thistle and Tulip, again from our new 2017 Collection, which complement our key footwear stories.”
